Konkan - Coastal and Ghat Beauty of India

Konkan area is in India. It covers the western coastline of India from Raigad to Mangalore. The residents of Konkan area are called as Konkanis.

Since the Konkan area covers the coastal line and western ghats, the total area will be scenic and lovely to view.

In Konkan area two rivers are flowing.. The Gangavali river in the southern boundary and Mayura river is in the north.

There are many places to visit and enjoy in that region and are excellent , non expensive and peaceful and away from the city.

If you start from Mangalore go to Udippi, visit Mary's island and visit Murdeshwar Temple, travel upto Karvar, you will find many places to stay with good good. you have to carry mineral water with you.

Konkan is very beautiful region. There are lots of oppurnunities on the route. You can visit Amboli, hill station near Sawantwadi, Can get down at Ratnagiri and visit Ganapatipule, Ganesh Temple at seashore and MTDC's best holoday resorts on beach,. Can get down at Chiplun and go to Guhagar - beach, Velneshwar- Ancient Shiva Temple and Hedvi - Ganesh Temple. nice and quite tipical villages in Kokan. From Guhagar you can come down to Dapoli and visit Anjerle (Ganesh Temple), Kelshi (Mahalaxmi temple) Velas at catch a train at Khed to come to Mumbai or can come back from bus.

Can get down at Malvan (not sure about railway station.) and visit Sindudurg Seafort.
